Movies Filmed In Newark Will Appear At 2024 Sundance Fest
Some moviemaking magic recently took place in Newark, and it will be appearing in one of the most iconic film festivals in the world: the Sundance Film Festival. In all, seven productions that were shot in New Jersey will be screening at the 2024 version of the festival: “I Saw the TV Glow,” “Your Monster,” “Rob Peace,” “Ponyboi,” “Presence,” “Exhibiting Forgiveness” and “A Different Man.” Two of these films captured footage in Newark: “Your Monster” and “Rob Peace.”

In the bestselling 2014 book “The Short and Tragic Life of Robert Peace,” Jeff Hobbs tells the story of Peace, his Yale roommate who died after being fatally shot in Newark when he was 30. Peace, an exceptional student, studied molecular biochemistry and biophysics at Yale. He was caught between two worlds before he was found dead in 2011.
